Catholic Charities The Homeless Prevention Program at Catholic Charities Worcester County runs a number of programs aimed at providing essential services to individuals and families facing homelessness, hunger, utility terminations and other such emergencies. An intern working at our site will gain first hand experience in emergency assistance response from the initial intake process to case assessment, determination, to the advocacy/ negotiation, information and referral process and the actual delivery of service. Our interns also participate in inter - agency networking meetings as well as workshops and training on federal, state and local programs available to our clients. Any student interested in understanding the dynamics of homelessness and hunger and the response strategies of local agencies such as ourselves in trying to ameliorate the dire situation will have an excellent learning opportunity by being part of the Homeless Prevention team of Catholic Charities. |
