Chandler Magnet School

Chandler Magnet School's primary goal is to establish a school environment that provides opportunities for students and staff to meet their maximum potential; an environment that fosters academic excellence and personal responsibilities while meeting the emotional social needs of its diverse population. A student's desire for the learning adventure is bolstered by the combined efforts of parents, faculty, and community.

In preparing students for the 21st Century, Chandler Magnet School provides a challenging, whole-child approach to learning in a nurturing, multicultural environment. Their diversity is celebrated and reinforced by the two-way bilingual program. Chandler Magent School has a special focus on music for children in pre-school through grade six. As an intern, you can work directly with the music teacher in the classroom, possibly playing a significant role. There are opportunities to plan and lead your own classroom activities and to assist and observe the teacher abound. It is also possible to work in the art classroom for part of the day.

An intern may also have the opportunity to observe teachers and their students; read to some of the younger students; assist and plan lessons and activities; plan family gatherings; and assist with a variety of other day to day operations.
