The purpose of a Dynamy application is not only to determine admission but also to begin planning for your specific Internship Year goals. If you have any questions or feel you may need additional support with the application or a program component, please speak with our admission office directly (admissions@dynamy.org or 508-755-2571).

There’s space for 40 at Internship Year and you can attend for a full academic year or a semester.  We hope to be meeting you soon!

Here's how to apply:

Application Deadlines
Some of our applicants know a year or two in advance that they want to take a gap year with Dynamy. Some don't decide until they hear from their first-choice colleges. Some put the whole subject of what to do after high school off until the summer after they graduate. We don't recommend the latter, but we know it happens. Here, applications are reviewed as they are received on a rolling basis. The general rule is "Early is better" but don’t hesitate to call us at any point during the year.

If you’ll apply for need-based financial aid, please remember the following dates.

Priority deadlines for financial aid applications:

  • Financial aid applications for the full year and fall semester are reviewed after June 1.
  • Financial aid applications for the spring semester are reviewed after November 15.

Please contact an Admission Officer if you have discovered Internship Year late in the spring or in the summer and would like to know if spaces are still available.

Don’t hesitate - Download your application.

The Interview
The on-site interview is a critical component to the Internship Year application. It's an opportunity for you to get to know us as much as it‘s an opportunity for us to meet you. We look forward to meeting you in person and expect that you will visit us in Worcester to meet some of our staff, see our facilities and get a sense of our city. Altogether, you should plan on spending nearly two hours with us during your visit. Please bring your parent(s) or guardian(s) with you as they'll participate too.

Before your interview, please complete Sections I-III and Section IX of the application and send them to us (admissions@dynamy.org or fax to 508-755-4692).

We’ll discuss this portion of the application during your interview!

If you live nearby and would like to arrange an informational visit, one without an interview, we’d be happy to meet with you so please call us.  We’ll ask you to return another time for the interview.
Please contact the Admission Office at admissions@dynamy.org, or call (508) 755-2571 to schedule your interview or informational visit today.

The Application a
Internship Year is a customized gap year and the application is the first step in personalizing your year or semester. As you’ll see, our application asks you to tell us a lot about yourself; your personality, preferences, learning style, skills, strengths, challenges, and all-important hopes for Internship Year. You’ll complete short answer questions, check boxes and write one essay.  If you have more to tell us or want to express yourself more creatively than in writing, you’ll have the opportunity to do that too. If you’re comfortable doing so, we ask that you share with us any recent educational testing or individualized curriculum that you participated in during high school. We even have a section where your parent(s) or guardian(s) may provide their perspective.

Transcripts
We do want to see your academic transcripts, but they play less of a role in Dynamy admission than they do in college admission. Given Dynamy’s hands-on approach, we're more concerned with the nature of your academic experience, your goals, and your current thinking. These are hard to capture on a transcript.

Financial Aid
We're proud of our demonstrated commitment to financial assistance for students in need. The School and Student Service for Financial Aid form (SSS) is the basis by which we award aid. That online application is available at www.nais.org/financialaid/sss. The Dynamy code is 2938.

Dynamy affirms the guarantee of equal opportunity for both staff and interns, without discrimination for reasons of race, ethnic background, religious beliefs, sex, or handicap.

International Students
Over the past decade, a number of international students have attended Internship Year, usually for a semester prior to attending college in the United States. Though we do not currently have a procedure for obtaining visas for students who are not US citizens, we will be happy to provide any documentation that might assist in foreign students securing visas.
