New Street Glass Works

The New Street GlassWorks studio is one of Worcester’s newest hot spots, literally. GlassWorks is equipped with a glass furnace that keeps 400 pounds of clear glass melted and ready for instant red-hot use. Three "glory holes" are cranked up as needed for glassblowers making use of the hot shop. There’s also a cold shop, a mold shop, a flat shop, six rental studios and a flame working studio.

Internationally known glass artist, Alex is the Studio Manager for the Glass and Enameling Studio that works with the Worcester Center for the Crafts. This sponsor is willing to help interns learn the art of glass-blowing, how to get their artwork out to the public, and learn the business of running a glass studio.
