Rainbow Child Development Center

The focus of the Rainbow Child Development Center is to provide a learning, supportive and safe environment which will allow children to develop and grow through participation and self expression. In addition to childcare, supportive and therapeutic services are offered to children and their families in collaboration with other community agencies and area colleges and universities. Interns may assist with a variety of recreational activities fostering the physical, social, and emotional development of the students. Because many of the children have been heavily involved with area social service agencies, interns are encouraged to attend staff meetings to learn more about the backgrounds and particular needs of the students. The placement is a hybrid of work in the recreational and social work fields.
