Independence, discovery and learning from your life as you are living it are at the heart of the Internship Year program. Your advisor helps you pull it all together as you take on the many new experiences at Dynamy. You can expect your advisor to be a good listener and lively conversationalist, encouraging you to dig deeper into your experiences to ask questions and find your own answers.

At least once a week you will meet with your advisor to discuss your internship, your community involvement project, or your apartment living. Your advisor will assist you with projects such as college applications, and discuss your coursework with you if you are enrolled in the college credit option.

Each week, interns and staff will meet as a group in a community meeting for community involvement projects or workshops. Topics at the community meetings can range from internships to budgeting to discussing current issues presented by interns, staff, and guest speakers.

Through it all, your advisor will be an important sounding board and source for support. Your discussions together will be touchstones as you experience the inspirations, the occasional roadblocks, and the challenges and successes of learning through internships.
