Getting to know new people, finding out about yourself, and learning to trust others all take time and effort. The process can be hurried along a little when you become part of a group involved in an intense experience. That's exactly what Outward Bound is.

For the first three weeks in the Dynamy Year, you'll be at the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in Bethel, Maine. You'll backpack, canoe, rock climb, camp, and learn how to survive in the wilderness. Those may be new things to you, but don't be intimidated. Outward Bound is physically demanding, but anyone in average health can meet the challenge.

What will really be tested are your emotional and social abilities. Your days in Maine will surprise you because they'll prove you can push beyond the limits you've always set for yourself. You'll learn you can be more than you imagined. You'll come to depend on yourself more, to trust other people, and feel the value of teamwork. Outward Bound is a great launching pad for the years to come.

Outward Bound connects you with the rest of your Internship Year group. Those bonds will create a solid footing that will allow you to plunge into the rest of the Dynamy experience with new confidence.
