Dynamy
Profiles
Hi, my name is J.D. Moore, from New Jersey.
One
of my internships was with Hot Tubes, a
custom bike building shop and racing team. I had the opportunity
to do a lot of stuff involved in sports management and business
management. I kept the books, watched as bikes were made – from
boxes of tubing to finely-tuned machines, learned about the field
and traveled with the racing team.
In
my experience there I met many professional riders and even played
golf with them. My boss, Toby, made sure that I got the most out
of my internship and had a great time.
Hi,
my name is Chace, from Massachusetts.
For
my first Dynamy internship, I worked at Nash Photography Studio,
a well-established commercial photography studio. Bob Nash is the
photographer and Susan Nash, my sponsor, runs the business.
We
worked with all sorts of clients – very well known companies to
small, local businesses. Almost all of the photography is done digitally,
so an intern works with computers using Adobe PhotoShop. I learned
a great deal about working in a studio setting, aspects of lighting
a shot, and had the opportunity to do several location shoots.
While
there wasn't much opportunity to do my own photography, I benefited
in that I better understand a photographer's job and the time that
goes into producing an excellent final image.
Hi,
my name is Lee Greenberg, from Burlington, VT.
I
am interested in the field of Communications, and interned at three
different businesses where I experienced various aspects of this
field. My first internship was at the radio station, WSRS; my second
at television station, Charter Communications; and lastly, a media
and graphic design company called Pagano Media, Inc.
Although
I enjoyed interning at all three places, my internship at Pagano
Media, Inc. was the most beneficial. Pagano Media, Inc. had a computer
on which I could learn the graphic design programs of Adobe Photoshop
and QuarkXPress. I learned a lot using tutorial tapes, as well as
on my own with the different programs. I also learned a lot more
than I had expected through this company, from customer relations
to photo shoots and videography.
My
experience at all three internships helped me to realize both what
I like and what I do not like within the field of Communications.
I learned from my internship year that one gets out of his or her
experience, what he or she puts into it. I feel I put in a lot,
and therefore I had a great time.
