I chose to attend Dynamy in order to figure out how I was going to succeed as a young adult pursuing an alternative path from college. It gave me time to work on myself and figure out how to properly schedule my own time.
Currently, I am a music artist and producer getting very involved in the exciting scene of New York City, in studios and on stages. Without my time at Dynamy I would not have been able to confidently take on a big city, living on my own with roommates.
As a creative type, I found it very hard to attend the daily monotony of middle and high school. During my gap year I made sure to always have 2 internships to schedule my hours throughout the week. One was always involved with yoga and one gave me the opportunity to try several cool things throughout the year, from working with dogs to enjoying the hidden beautiful nature trails of Worcester. On my free time I prepared my music for my long-awaited move to NYC, which I made after attending a yoga teacher training in Costa Rica the summer after Dynamy.
I personally loved the opening week wilderness adventure which inspired me and positively changed my perspective on life. My gap year was exactly what I needed in order to be prepared for what I had been planning to do all along. Please see my work and what I’ve been up to at www.jacobschaffer.com.
